Pagan Environmental Engagement survey
Welcome to this survey of Pagan attitudes to Environmental and Ethical issues.
I am carrying out this survey as part of research with the Religious Studies department
of the Open University, under the supervision of
Dr.
Graham Harvey.
It is often asserted that Pagans have a unique contribution to make to debates about
Environmental issues indeed, this has been flatly stated by Amergin Og, the former
president of the Pagan Federation. I am interested in exploring this unique contribution:
the extent to which it is different from that of Non-Pagans, and the way that it relates
explicitly to Pagans’ beliefs, practices and experiences. The purpose of this survey
is to gather base-line data to explore the assertion that Pagans have a unique way
of understanding and relating to the environment. It is a first step in beginning
to explore this area: the creation of a rough sketch map, which will later be filled
in with greater detail.
The questionnaire should take around fifteen minutes to complete so if you haven’t
time now, then please bookmark this page and come back later. The ideas that I’m looking
for are more to do with feelings and attitudes that carefully articulated ideas, so
feel free to answer each question quickly, based upon gut instinct, rather than thinking
in depth.
If you want to
comment on the questionnaire, ask for more information about the research, or if
you would be willing to be interviewed in greater depth about your experiences,
ideas, or activism, then please e-mail me

Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far! Unfortunately, due to
the number of responses we received, we exceeded our maximum bandwidth allowance with
our web hosts on the 11th of May (hence the survey has not been available for a few
days).
We have now upgraded our account with Brinkster to cope with the increased demand,
and are up and running again as of today!
For anyone who was part-way through the survey and got cut-off, you should be
able resume your session as long as you are returning within 7 days of your
last session. Just follow the link to the survey above to resume where you left
off. For anyone returning after more than 7 days, I'm afraid you will have to
start from the beginning again.
